Bandh! Trouble starts

By A Staff Reporter : Bandh is being celebrated on Tuesday. Disrupted train services on Kharagpur-Tata section.300 Bandh supporters blocked up and down lines at Chirugoda station. Train movement is being controlled at Ghatshila, Dhalbhumgarh. Railway passengers are suffering.

Alchiki Hull Baisi group has called for Jharkhand bandh on 4th July. They announced the bandh earlier on this day for the four-point demand for the development of  Santali community.On the eve of Bandh, a torch procession was held from Sunder Nagar in Jamshedpur to Karandih Chowk.The procession was led by Majhi Baba of Podesa village. Supporters of the bandh demand that Santali language should be given the status of official language. Along with they want  a separate academy, the printing and reading of  Santali language books in Alchiki script and reinstatement of Santali teachers.The Alchiki Hul Baisi group accused the Jharkhand government of ignoring their demands and called for a complete bandh in Jharkhand on Tuesday. To make the Jharkhand bandh successful, all shopkeepers and establishments have been asked to close their shops and traffic on the roads.
