BY A STAFF REPORTER: Amid the Sandeshkhali row, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee challenged the BJP asserting that West Bengal is the safest place for women on 7th March, Thursday.
While addressing the TMC's Mahila Wing Rally, Mamata Banerjee underscored that Bengal is the only place where women are safe while challenging BJP over the Sandeshkhali issue.
CM Mamata Banerjee along with nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee participated in the rally organized by TMC's Mahila Wing in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Locket Chatterjee slammed Mamata Banerjee for participating in the rally instead of visiting Sandeshkhali, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. She asserted that the people of Bengal will ensure that she sits on the streets one day.
Meanwhile, BJP women leaders headed by BJP MP Locket Chatterjee were stopped in Kolkata's New Town by the Security Forces while they were en route to Unrest-hit Sandeshkhali today.
A village located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Sandeshkhali is witnessing significant clashes and violence following allegations of systematic sexual exploitations and land-grabbing committed by TMC leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara and Uttam Sardar. Shahjahan Sheikh remained absconding since 5th January after an ED team was attacked by a large mob while conducting raids at Shahjahan's residence.
