BY A STAFF REPORTER: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday approached the Election Commission of India against TMC leader Piyush Panda over his alleged derogatory remarks against PM Modi and his community.
The BJP submitted a letter to ECI seeking action against Piyush Panda over his alleged Casteist remarks against PM Modi and his caste (Teli)
In a statement on the Ram Mandir Pran-Pratishtha ceremony, Piyush Panda accused PM Modi of committing Blasphemy by inaugurating an incomplete Ram Mandir. Moreover, Panda stated that PM Modi, despite being from the Teli community, performed rituals while not inviting Brahmins to the ceremony.
The party accused Piyush Panda of harming the reputation of the Teli Community while insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The letter also stated that passing such remarks is a violation of the enforced Model Code of Conduct.
The ECI on Monday also censured BJP MP Dilip Ghosh and Congress Spokesperson Supriya Shrinate for passing remarks against West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and BJP Lok Sabha Candidate from Mandi, Kangana Ranaut respectively.
