Alipurduar, West Bengal: BJP MP Manoj Tigga has condemned the use of force by police during a peaceful protest held by BJP workers in Alipurduar. Speaking on the incident, Tigga highlighted the police's aggressive response towards the demonstrators, who were demanding justice for a doctor allegedly raped and murdered on August 9.

"Today thousands of our workers were present here and protesting peacefully," Tigga said. "We were protesting against the horrific crime where a doctor was raped and murdered, and there were attempts to destroy the evidence. After all this, even the people in the government are demanding justice."

According to Tigga, the protest was met with a violent response from the police, who used water cannons, tear gas, and even a lathi charge to disperse the crowd. "They also beat 2-3 women workers," he added, expressing his outrage over the treatment of the protesters.

The BJP has called for an investigation into the actions of the police and has vowed to continue their demand for justice for the victim. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation and raised questions about the handling of peaceful protests in the region.
