BY A STAFF REPORTER: Days after the attack, the Calcutta High Court began hearing the National Investigation Agency's plea against the West Bengal Police's case on April 10, Wednesday.

The NIA argued that the attack in Bhupatinagar was similar to the Sandeshkhali attack on the Enforcement Directorate's sleuths. Moreover, they also claimed that around 100 women attacked them and vandalized their vehicles.

The West Bengal Police on Sunday filed an FIR against the NIA  team accusing them of molesting and trespassing the residence during search operations.

Sleuths of NIA faced violent protests and suffered injuries while conducting search operations in connection with a December 2022 bomb blast case in Bhupatinagar, Purba Medinipur. The NIA team arrested two key conspirators, Balai Charan Maity and Manobrata Jana during the raids.
