Center Extends Security Cover To Four Bengal BJP Leaders

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, the BJP-led Central Government granted the CISF security cover to four BJP leaders from West Bengal on April 3, Wednesday. 

Moreover, former Calcutta High Court Judge and BJP Candidate from Tamluk Abhijit Gangopadhyay has been granted 'Y+' security cover. Former TMC MP and Barrackpore candidate Arjun Singh has been granted 'Z' security cover. Furthermore, BJP district General Secretary Abhijit Barman and executive member of Coochbehar district Tapas Das have been given security under the 'X' category. 

Days after joining the BJP, Abhijit Gangopadhyay and Arjun Singh were provided security cover on March 27. While Barman and Das were provided security on March 29.

The move comes ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on March 16. The election will be held in seven phases beginning on April 19. Moreover, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect since the announcement and will be imposed till the result declaration.
