BY A STAFF REPORTER: Hours after Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, National Conference Leader Omar Abdullah on Friday expressed concern over the potential imposition of Article 356 (President's Rule) in Delhi.
Omar Abdullah stated "This is not the first one. Before this, a few weeks ago, our friend, the chief minister of Jharkhand, was also detained. He went to Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation because he knew what would happen. If he went to jail as a sitting chief minister. The BJP would have used the Constitution to impose the President's rule. That is now my worry for Delhi. If the Aam Aadmi Party insists on retaining Arvind Kejriwal as chief minister from jail, the Centre will use this as an excuse to impose President's rule in New Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal is not the first and he won't be the last. This will happen"

Moreover, Kejriwal withdrew the plea as the hearing was clashing with the hearing in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court. However, Arvind Kejriwal will submit the plea to the Supreme Court later.
Justice Sanjiv Khanna was assigned to hear Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest.
He will also be produced in the Rouse Avenue Court at 2:30 PM today. Section 144 has been imposed in the areas surrounding the Court.
Furthermore, the Delhi Police has detained several protesters including Delhi Ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj at ITO, New Delhi.
Moreover, Atishi asserted that AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal will remain the Delhi CM after his arrest and run Delhi from the lockup.
The Enforcement Directorate arrested Delhi CM and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal from his residence in connection with the Delhi Liquorgate case. He was arrested following search operations and Interrogations conducted by the ED at his residence on Thursday evening.
Arvind Kejriwal is the second sitting CM arrested by the ED in the last two months. Earlier, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren was arrested on 31st January by the ED in connection with the Land Scam and Mining Scam cases.
