Brace up for a clean Ganga within a year. The state pollution control board is working on a technology which will clean the river for the portion running through West Bengal.
The clean Ganga programme is already on priority five scale, which effectively means that it is on top of the state’s agenda. Incidentally several agencies are working to clean the river which is considered the life line of India.
According to sources close to Pollution Control Board, member secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar is personally monitoring the progress of cleaning river Ganga. Persons connected with the project indicated that cleaning of portions of river Ganga in West Bengal is expected to be completed within a year.
