BY A STAFF REPORTER: A day after the arrest, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Hemant Soren was brought to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court on 1st February Thursday in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
He was seen arriving at the court accompanied by ED officers and waving at the presspersons. Hemant Soren tendered his resignation to the Jharkhand governor yesterday after being interrogated for six hours. Subsequently, he was taken into custody by the ED team concerning the alleged land and mining scam. The JMM MLAs elected Champai Soren as the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
Earlier, ED seized 36 lakh in cash and two BMWs from Soren's Delhi residence as he remained untraceable for 30 hours.
