GM South eastern Mishra in race for next chairman railway board

BY A STAFF REPORTER: With chairman railway board Jaya Verma Sinha retiring on August 31, race is for the next incumbent with Anil Mishra, general manager south eastern railway and Anil Khandelwal, member infrastructure, railway board in the lead to succeed. According to sources in the railway headquarters in Delhi, Mishra is ahead of Khandelwal who retires next year. 

The cabinet committee on appointments will select the chairman railway board. It is reliably learnt that railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will indicate his mind to the Prime Minister who will take the final call. The railways is plagued by series of incidents over the last few weeks and the next chairman will have task cut out for him.
