BY A STAFF REPORTER: Indian Railways is committed to upgrade rail infrastructure all over the nation. In this year's budget, West Bengal has got allocation of Rs. 13810 Cr, Odisha has got an allocation of Rs. 10,536 Cr & Jharkhand has got an allocation of Rs. 7234 Cr and many stations have been planned to be developed as world class railway stations.
Today Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Dedicated/and laid foundation stone of total 554 railway stations and 1500 Road over bridge and Road under bridges all across the nation. In Kharagpur Division, foundation stone of total 15 stations & 13 ROB/RUBs were laid and 02 ROB/RUBs were dedicated to the nation.
Functions were organised at all the locations of this division for this historic event, in which the Hon’ble PM connected with around 2200 locations through Video Conferencing and around 40 lakhs participated in the function virtually. Local programs were organised at all the venues of this division, cultural program followed by prize distribution to various winners of school competitions were a part of this. The local Hon’ble MP, MLA and other dignitaries attended the said event at their respective locations.
Hon’ble Union Minister of State, Shri Bishweswar Tudu attended the program from LHS 37 in ROP-BGY section, Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Hon’ble MP/Baleshwar attended at Baleshwar station, Shri Dilip Ghosh, Hon’ble MP/Medinipur graced the dedication event at ROB-135 (Town thaana bridge), Shri Sishir Adhikari, Hon’ble MP/Kanthi joined the event at Digha station and the program was graced by Shri Dibyendu Adhikari at Mecheda station. Shri Kunar Hembram, Hon’ble MP/Jhargram attended the event at Jhargram station.
Hon’ble MLA/Kharagpur sadar, Shri Hiranmoy Chhatopadhyay graced the virtual event at Kharagpur station, Smt Tapashi Mandal, Hon’ble MLA/Haldia & Shri Sanatan Bijuli, Hon’ble MLA/Badasahi attended the mega event at Haldia & Betnoti station respectively.
