India’s Biggest Defence export deal: First consignment by March

The BrahMos missile has a range of over 300km and is believed difficult to intercept.

By Rupanjal Chauhan: India will be sending the first consignment of the biggest defence export deal containing BrahMos missiles and other related equipment by late February or early March this year 

This is India’s biggest defence export deal since its independence. The deal is of about US$370 million. It is being bought by Marines in the Philippines. The consignment is still being prepared. 

The BrahMos missile has a range of over 300km and is believed difficult to intercept. 

Besides BrahMos, the indigenously designed Akash surface could get buyers also. Moreover, high-value items such as Tejas light combat aircraft and the light combat helicopter can also be purchased.
