Mamata Banerjee Assures Justice in RG Kar Hospital Rape-Murder Case

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has addressed the public regarding the horrific rape and murder at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. She shared that she was immediately informed of the incident upon her return from Jhargram and contacted Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal. Banerjee spoke with the victim's parents, assuring them that the police would ensure the perpetrators receive the death penalty.

Banerjee visited the victim's family two days after the incident and remained in constant communication with police personnel regarding the investigation. She confirmed that CCTV footage was thoroughly reviewed, leading to the arrest of the suspect within 12 hours after intense interrogation.
