Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has addressed the concerns of protesting doctors in Kolkata, acknowledging their struggles and pledging to address their demands. Speaking to the doctors, Banerjee expressed her empathy and commitment to resolving the issues they have raised.

“I have come forward by leading the student movement and have struggled a lot in my life. I understand your struggle,” Banerjee said. She noted her concern over the doctors’ protest, which continued despite heavy rainfall the previous night. “It rained all night yesterday, and you were sitting here protesting. I was worried all night,” she added.

Banerjee assured the doctors that their demands would be thoroughly reviewed. “After listening to your demands, I will study them. I do not run the government alone; I will definitely find a solution by discussing your concerns with senior officials,” she stated. She also emphasized that anyone found guilty would be held accountable. “Whoever is found guilty will definitely be punished,” she assured.

The Chief Minister requested patience from the protesting doctors, promising that no punitive action would be taken against them. “I am asking for some time from you. The state government will not take any action against you,” Banerjee said. She also informed them that work related to the development, infrastructure, and security of hospitals has already begun and will continue.
