Kolkata, West Bengal: Amidst ongoing investigations into the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder case, West Bengal Minister Dr. Shashi Panja has voiced strong concerns over the spread of misinformation and the conduct of media trials. Speaking about the incident, Dr. Panja emphasized the need for a fair investigation and criticized those spreading unverified information.
"We need a solution, and the CBI must provide answers," Dr. Panja stated, referring to the ongoing investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the hearings in the Supreme Court. She expressed frustration over what she described as a "media trial" and the dissemination of fake narratives surrounding the case.
Dr. Panja urged those with credible information to come forward and assist in the investigation. "If you know something, give the evidence to the CBI," she said, highlighting the importance of cooperation with official investigative channels rather than resorting to public speculation or unrest.
The minister also condemned recent acts of hooliganism and public disorder associated with the case, particularly under the guise of protests or Bandhs. "Why is this media trial happening... Our fight is against this," she asserted, calling for calm and a focus on factual investigation rather than rumors and agitation.
