By A Staff Reporter: The West Bengal Postal Department has introduced mobile parcel booking services to enhance convenience for customers in Kolkata and nearby areas.
In an interview with ANM News, Mr. Neeraj Kumar, Chief Post Master General of the West Bengal Circle, explained the initiative. "To provide a convenient parcel service, especially in market areas like Central Avenue, College Street, and New Market, we have started mobile parcel booking from Yogayog Bhawan Business Office. The vehicle will visit markets and shops, booking parcels directly from customers' doorsteps."
The department has deployed around six vehicles in Kolkata and aims to extend the service to district quarters. This initiative is expected to benefit elderly people, boutique owners, and anyone unable to visit the post office. "For those with large consignments or who find it difficult to go to the post office, this service will be very convenient," Mr. Kumar added.
The new service promises to make parcel booking easier and more accessible for all customers.
