BY A STAFF REPORTER: Ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a conversation with Sandeshkhali survivor and Basirhat's BJP candidate Rekha Patra on March 26, Tuesday.
During the conversation, PM Modi talked about Patra's campaign arrangements and lauded her for her fight against injustice and atrocities committed towards women of Sandeshkhali.
Further, Rekha Patra narrated the hardships and miseries faced by the women of Sandeshkhali. She said "If we could vote freely, this crisis wouldn't have occurred. I wish to safeguard the honor of the people here. The fight will continue." She further alleged that Some TMC women opposed her nomination. She assured me that they have no animosity toward them. She also assured me that they would try to restore the honor.
Rekha Patra was the first woman who raised her voice against atrocities committed against the women of Sandeshkali allegedly by TMC leaders including Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara, and Uttam Sardar.
Furthermore, BJP nominated Sandeshkhali-survivor Rekha Patra as a candidate from Basirhat, West Bengal for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on March 24, Sunday.
