RJD, Congress, Left Announce Seat-Sharing For Lok Sabha Polls

The seat-sharing was announced during a press conference chaired by leaders of RJD, Congress, and Left Parties. However, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav and his son, former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav didn't participate in the press conference.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Indian National Congress, and Left Parties announced seat allocation on Bihar's 40 Lok Sabha Seats on March 29, Friday.

The seat-sharing was announced during a press conference chaired by leaders of RJD, Congress, and Left Parties. However, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav and his son, former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav didn't participate in the press conference. 

Furthermore, RJD is set to contest 26 seats including Hajipur and Purnea. Congress fielded its candidates on nine seats including Kishanganj and Patna Sahib. Three left parties namely CPI-ML, CPI, and CPM fielded their candidates on five seats. The CPI-ML is set to contest three seats including Arrah, Karakat, and Nalanda. The CPI will contest Begusarai and CPM will contest Khagaria. 

The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on March 16. The election will be held in seven phases beginning on April 19. Moreover, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect since the announcement and will be imposed till the result declaration.
