Three senior IPS officers to three sensitive districts

The state election commission has decided to send three senior IPS officers to supervise the panchayat elections in sensitive districts. According to information gathered by ANM News, Malda, Birbhum and Murshidabad have been identified as key sensitive districts. The state election commission sources indicated that a large number of incidents of violence have been reported from these districts over the past couple of weeks.

The state election commission has decided to send inspector general of police, Sunil Choudhury to Malda, additional director general of police, special task force, Gyanwant Singh to Birbhum, and Inpector general of police, DP Singh to Murshidabad. All three officers have served various tenures in the districts and have supervised several panchayat polls in the past.
