TMC Delegation To Meet ECI Over NIA Incident

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Amidst the TMC-NIA showdown, the Trinamool Congress approached the Election Commission of India alleging misuse of central agencies in West Bengal on April 8, Monday.

The TMC leaders including West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee have accused NIA of launching raids unethically and at the behest of BJP. However, NIA has strongly opposed these allegations stating that they carried out raids on the orders of Calcutta HC and the attacks were unprovoked. 

Sleuths of NIA faced violent protests and suffered injuries while conducting search operations in connection with a December 2022 bomb blast case in Bhupatinagar, Purba Medinipur. The NIA team arrested two key conspirators, Balai Charan Maity and Manobrata Jana during the raids.
