Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh has criticized Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dilip Ghosh following his remarks on the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder case. Dilip Ghosh had raised concerns about the handling of the case and accused Kolkata Police of not adequately addressing the situation.
In response, Kunal Ghosh said, "Dilip Ghosh is frustrated; his own party removed him from the seat and made him lose. Therefore, he has to say something." Kunal Ghosh’s remarks come after Dilip Ghosh’s criticisms of the police’s actions in the RG Kar case, which involves allegations of mishandling and lack of progress.
Kunal Ghosh emphasized that the Kolkata Police had taken all necessary steps, including arresting the accused, and dismissed Dilip Ghosh’s claims as baseless. "In the RG Kar case, whatever action Kolkata Police took, that was it. They arrested the accused; no other breakthrough happened," Kunal Ghosh stated. He further suggested that if Dilip Ghosh wanted to see the investigation's progress, he should visit the CGO complex and observe the ongoing probe.
This exchange underscores the ongoing political friction and the differing viewpoints on handling high-profile cases in Kolkata, with each leader accusing the other of political motivations and inadequate responses.
