There are many teams who are participating in Africa Cup of Nations to complete for the title. Some are weak, some are strong. However they all are giving their best and not meekly surrendering. I personally think Morocco are a strong contender for the AFCON cup, given their exploits in the World Cup. They are also showing no signs of rustiness, and are sitting at the summit of group F, which also comprises Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Tanzania. Their next match is against DR Congo tomorrow, 21st January. They will be looking to consolidate their spot at the summit by gaining maximum points. Another contender can be Senegal. They are also fighting very strongly and have won 2 consecutive matches. In the first match, they have defeated Gambia, and in the second match, have overcome Cameroon 3-1, with Sadio Mane getting on the scoresheet. They have all but guaranteed qualification into the knockout stage as they are also sitting in the top position of Group C. They will looking to wrap up the group stage with another 3 points in the bag as they will face Guinea on Tuesday 23rd January. So in my opinion, these 2 are strong and main contenders for the AFCON trophy. Senegal had also won the trophy in the last edition of AFCON.
