Just-retired Indian hockey star PR Sreejesh shares insights on the team's journey to winning bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics, highlighting their confidence and approach to the final matches.
In a recent interview, just-retired Indian hockey star PR Sreejesh reflected on India's journey to winning the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Sreejesh noted that all 11 team members had previous experience in similar scenarios and entered the tournament with confidence in their ability to secure either a silver or gold medal.
He explained that the team progressively improved throughout the tournament, and by the time they reached the bronze medal match, the mood was focused and determined. "We had a very good talk in the dressing room before the final game," Sreejesh recalled. "Everyone was told, 'this is the last chance, you are playing the last game, and you go with a medal or you go empty-handed, so it's up to you, you play your game.' There was no pressure; the team just played their game," he added.
