BY A STAFF REPORTER: As the Supreme Court rules in favor of AAP's Kuldeep Kumar, Returning Officer Anil Masih has been booked under section 340 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on 20th February, Tuesday.
The Supreme Court stated that a fit case is created for the initiation of proceedings against Anil Masih under section 340 of CrPC. The Registrar Judicial has been directed to send a notice to Anil Masih, asking him to provide reasons why action should not be taken against him.

A day ahead of the hearing, Manoj Sonkar resigned from the Mayor's post on 18th February. The Chandigarh Mayor Election results were announced on 30th January where BJP's Manoj Sonkar with 15 votes defeated AAP's Kuldeep Kumar, who secured 12 votes. Shortly after BJP's victory in the Chandigarh Mayor elections, a clash broke out as Congress and AAP councilors accused Manoj Sonkar of winning through illegal means on Tuesday 30th January.
