Mumbai, April 5 — The mortal remains of veteran Bollywood actor Manoj Kumar were taken from his residence in Mumbai this morning as family, friends, and admirers gathered to bid farewell to the legendary figure of Indian cinema. He passed away at the age of 87, leaving behind a rich legacy of patriotic and socially resonant films that helped shape the golden era of Hindi cinema.
The final rites will be performed later today at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle, where members of the film fraternity, political leaders, and fans are expected to pay their last respects.
Manoj Kumar, born Harikrishna Giri Goswami, earned the moniker "Bharat Kumar" for his iconic roles in films that highlighted national pride and social values, such as Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim, Shaheed, and Roti Kapda Aur Makaan.
