Ottawa, April 5 — In a tragic incident, an Indian national lost his life in a fatal stabbing that occurred in Rockland, a community near Ottawa, Canada. The Indian High Commission in Ottawa confirmed the incident on social media, expressing deep sorrow and assuring full support to the victim’s family.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of an Indian national in Rockland near Ottawa, due to stabbing. Police has stated a suspect has been taken into custody,” the High Commission posted on Friday.

Authorities in Canada have launched an investigation into the incident. While the identity of the deceased has not been officially released, local law enforcement confirmed that one individual has been arrested in connection with the case. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation.

The Indian High Commission further stated that it is in close contact with the victim’s family through a local community association and is extending all possible consular support.
