Delhi — On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, AAP leader and Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain highlighted the importance of equality, particularly in education, as envisioned by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Addressing the public, Jain criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for hiking school fees, contrasting it with the AAP government’s commitment to keeping education affordable for all.
“Babasaheb Ambedkar gave us the principle of equality, and education is central to that. The AAP government stayed for 10 years and ensured that Delhi schools did not allow any fee hikes, while the BJP immediately spiked them after taking over,” Jain stated.
Jain’s remarks pointed to the growing concern over rising educational costs in the capital, with some private schools reportedly charging up to Rs 2 lakh per year in fees. This has raised alarms about the accessibility of education for middle-class families.
