New Delhi: The Union Budget 2025 has allocated ₹5,300 crore to the textile sector, reinforcing the government's commitment to boosting employment and strengthening India's textile industry. Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh emphasized the sector’s importance, stating that it is the second-largest employment provider after agriculture.
"The textile sector includes technical textile, handlooms, handicrafts, natural fibre, and silk. Following agriculture, this is the biggest sector to provide employment. That's why the PM has allocated ₹5,300 crore to this sector," Singh said.
