BY A STAFF REPORTER: At least four migrants were killed and 51 others missing after a migrant boat capsized near The Island of Kerkennah in Tunisia, a Justice Department official said.
Tunisia's interior minister said in July that the bodies of 901 migrants had been recovered off the coast of Tunisia between January 1 and July 20 this year.
The North African country is facing record waves of migration this year and is facing a frequent disaster of migrant boats sinking off the coast of Italy from sub-Saharan Africa.
Tunisia has replaced Libya as the region's main departure point for people fleeing poverty and conflict in Africa and the Middle East, hoping for a better life in Europe.
