Is Chief secretary HK Dwivedi getting a six month extension in service? The state government has sent a letter to the Centre seeking an extension in service for Dwivedi who is scheduled to superannuate on June 30, 2023. Although officially so far there is no indication from the Centre, but ANM News have learnt from reliable sources that there are high chances of the much expected nod coming through before his retirement.

The 1988 batch IAS officer was finance secretary and then home secretary before he took over as the Chief secretary on June 1, 2021. Speculations are rife that considering the blow hot blow cold relationship between state and Centre, there are chances that Dwivedi's extension might not be possible. The official letter of approval however has not yet arrived but sources indicated that Centre may not raise the red flag.
