Narmada, Gujarat — External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, during his visit to Gujarat’s Narmada district, expressed appreciation for the region’s progress in education, public service delivery, and sports infrastructure.

Speaking at an event, Dr. Jaishankar highlighted the positive transformation witnessed in local schools, where he inaugurated a smart classroom and interacted with students. “Their teacher mentioned that since all students are already familiar with mobile phones, adapting to smart classroom technology has become both easy and engaging for them,” he said, adding that it was heartening to witness their excitement and enthusiasm for digital learning.

The minister also reflected on an earlier request he received when he first took office—establishing a Passport Sewa Kendra in Narmada. “It was one of the first demands I encountered six years ago. Today, that centre handles 30 to 40 appointments daily and is operating efficiently,” he noted, commending the seamless public service now accessible to residents.

Further, Dr. Jaishankar visited the Chhotubhai Purani Sports Complex, where he expressed admiration for the gymnastics facilities. “The infrastructure here is impressive, and I am confident that athletes from this district will reach international platforms,” he remarked.
