Sanjay Singh Walks Out of Tihar Jail, Raises Slogans

BY A STAFF REPORTER: After spending six months in custody, AAP MP Sanjay Singh walked out of the Tihar Jail and raised slogans for Kejriwal's release on April 3, Wednesday. 

Sanjay Singh raised slogans of "Jail ki taale tootenge, Arvind Kejriwal chhootenge" (Prison locks will be broken, Arvind Kejriwal will be released). Also, several AAP leaders were present outside the Tihar jail to welcome Sanjay Singh. Moreover, He was released a day after the Supreme Court granted him bail due to lack of evidence in the Delhi liquor policy case. 

Shortly after being released, Sanjay Singh reached Arvind Kejriwal's residence in Delhi to meet his wife Sunita Kejriwal. Furthermore, he has been released on bail conditions imposed by the Trial Court. He has been given a bail bond of Rs. Two lakh, submitted his passport and has been directed not to leave the Delhi-NCR until further orders. 

The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to AAP MP Sanjay Singh, one of the accused in the case as the ED failed to recover money pertinent to the scam. Moreover, he was arrested on October 4, 2023. However, the bail is not precedent. 

The authorities shifted Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to Tihar Jail and lodged him in jail number two following the orders of Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Monday. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court granted Judicial custody of 15 days to Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Liquorgate on April 1, Monday. 

Moreover, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday extended Arvind Kejriwal's ED remand till April 1 in connection with the Delhi Liquorgate case. The ED demanded a seven-day extension of Kejriwal's custody due to his alleged evasive replies and non-cooperation in the investigation. However, the court extended the remand for four days.

Furthermore, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court Remanded Delhi CM and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal to ED Custody till March 28 in the Delhi Liquorgate case on March 22, Friday. The decision came as ED demanded 10-day custody of Kejriwal and submitted 28 pages of evidence alleging his involvement in the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam. 

The Enforcement Directorate arrested Delhi CM and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal from his residence in connection with the Delhi Liquorgate case. He was arrested following search operations and Interrogations conducted by the ED at his residence on Thursday evening.
