Kolkata, West Bengal – Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh has alleged a major voter list scam in West Bengal, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of illegally including names of non-residents in the state's electoral roll. He claimed that similar malpractices occurred in Maharashtra and Delhi but went unnoticed. However, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he asserted, had exposed the issue in West Bengal.

Speaking to the media, Ghosh criticized the Election Commission for its silence on the matter. "The voter list and Aadhaar card scheme have been manipulated here. The BJP did the same in Maharashtra and Delhi but escaped scrutiny. However, CM Mamata Banerjee has exposed this scam in West Bengal. They are adding voters from outside the state, and the Election Commission has failed to provide an explanation. That’s why TMC is scrutinizing the entire state. We demand an investigation into this matter," he said.

Ghosh also addressed the recent controversy at Jadavpur University, where West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu was allegedly attacked during a scheduled program. Dismissing the incident as politically motivated, he remarked, "This is all politics. Everyone saw that the state Education Minister was attacked. His program was pre-scheduled at the university."
