By Avideep Nandi Majumdar: Nigeria marched their way into the semi finals of Africa Cup of Nations as they defeated Angola 1-0 courtesy of an Ademola Lookman strike 4 minutes from half time at Abidjan. Nigeria were totally dominant from the word go and gave Angola a very hard time in defence.
Eventually the pressure told as Moises Simon brilliant skipped past a challenge from an Angolian defender to pass the ball to former Leicester City man Ademola Lookman who slotted the ball past the Angolian goalkeeper Antonio Signori. In the second half, Nigerian defence stood firm and tall to quell any chance of Angola getting into level terms.
Nigeria, also managed to score a second goal but Victor Osimhen was adjusted to be offside from a free-kick. Nigerias quest for a 4th AFCON title will continue as they will face the winner of Cape Verde v South Africa clash in the semi finals on the 7th of February.
