New Delhi: BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi took a sharp dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent remark describing the Constitution as “1,000 years old,” accusing him of lacking even the most basic understanding of India’s constitutional history.
Speaking to the press in Delhi, Trivedi mocked Gandhi’s statement, calling it yet another instance of the Congress MP leaving the nation “shocked and speechless” with his “knowledge.”
“Rahul Gandhi ji always leaves the country shocked and speechless with his 'knowledge',” said Trivedi. “In his statement, he said the Constitution was made in 1947 — he doesn’t even know that in 1947, the Constitution wasn’t made; only the proceedings of the Constituent Assembly had begun.”
Clarifying the historical timeline, Trivedi said, “The Constitution was finalised on November 26, 1949, and implemented on January 26, 1950. Rahul Gandhi is among those who don’t even know when the Constitution was formed, and yet he claims it is 1,000 years old.”
