Chief minister Mamata Banerjee came down heavily on BJP for expelling TMC MP, Mahua Maitra on ``cash for query'' scandal. ``It is a sad day. They cannot defeat us in elections and hence have taken recourse ti vendetta politics. The party stands by Mahua and she will return with a bigger majority,'' she said.
The West bengal chief minister called the move, ``betrayal'' of country's parliamentary democracy and totally ``unacceptable.'' After a heated debate, TMC MP, Mahua Maitra was expelled after ethics committee of Parliament found her guilty of accepting gifts and illegal gratification from a businessman to further his interest.
