BY A STAFF REPORTER: During his third visit to West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Siliguri-Radhikapur Express virtually in Siliguri on 9th March, Saturday.
The train service is set to travel between West Bengal's Siliguri and Radhikapur, covering a distance of about 218 Km.
Furthermore, he addressed the 'Viksit Bharat Viksit West Bengal' event and stated that earlier, trains used to slow down while entering the Northeast. He further affirmed that the central government is endeavoring to increase train speeds in North Bengal to match those across the country.
Along with this, PM Modi inaugurated several other projects worth Rs. 4,500 crores aimed to foster development in the state.
PM Modi also visited Assam's Jorhat, Kaziranga National Park, and Arunachal Pradesh's Itanagar to inaugurate significant developmental projects there.
Furthermore, this is PM Modi's third visit to West Bengal in the month. Earlier, he spent two days in Bengal from 1st March to 2nd March. Subsequently, he visited West Bengal to inaugurate India's first underwater metro on 6th March in Kolkata.
