TOBAGO’S AIRPORT WELCOMES INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS AFTER 2 YEAR HIATUS

By a Staff Reporter: The ANR Robinson International Airport has officially reopened to resume international flights for the first time since March of 2020. British Airways was the first to resume service on Monday 10th January, 2022. IeNews conducted an exclusive interview with the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association President, Chris James, who revealed what is expected in the industry when it comes to International flights to the island. According to him, there is a relief of pressure as Tobago no longer has to rely on the domestic market.

Mr James further described the current economic state of Tobago’s Tourism Sector. He explained that the tourism industry is ready to cope with the arrivals. Both small and large businesses have undergone adjustments to accommodate covid-19 effects. The Trinidad & Tobago travel pass system will be used at the Airport, requiring ALL incoming travellers to present a negative PCR test taken no earlier than 72 hours prior to arrival. All non-nationals are required to be fully vaccinated.
