By a Staff Reporter: Bengaluru FC captain Sunil Chhetri considers the Indian Super League as one of the most important competitions of his life. Ahead of the start of the 2024-2025 season, Chhetri admitted that the growth he has seen in the ISL was something he could not have imagined in 2014. He is appreciative of the way the ISL has discovered a lot of young football talent over the years and the league has grown bigger with the entry of new clubs.
Sunil Chhetri is hopeful that Mohammedan SC joining the ISL this year will have a positive impact. Kolkata's Mohammedan SC is joining the Indian Super League this year. They qualified for this season by winning the 2023-24 I-League.

Chhetri said about the league's new team, "They are amazing. When Mohammedan SC plays, it doesn't matter where they play. When I was in Kolkata and played against Mohammedan SC every week, whether they played at the Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi or Cooperage Stadium in Mumbai, the stadiums were always full of fans. Believe me, wherever they go, they will have supporters. I am really thrilled that Mohammedan SC is playing in ISL this time”.
