New Delhi, April 4 — Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday attended the vibrant Sarhul festival celebrations organized at the residence of Member of Parliament Sanjay Seth, who is also associated with the Ministry of Defence. The festival, rooted in the worship of nature and observed prominently in Jharkhand and other tribal regions, highlights the deep cultural traditions of India’s indigenous communities.

Speaking at the event, Singh emphasized the importance of tribal heritage and its spiritual connection to nature. "Sarhul is not just a celebration—it is a tribute to the Earth, our forests, and the tribal communities who have preserved this bond for generations," he said.

He extended heartfelt greetings to all those celebrating the occasion, particularly members of the tribal community across the country. “I pray to God for the happiness, health, and welfare of the tribal communities of Jharkhand and the entire nation,” Singh added.

The Sarhul festival, which marks the beginning of the new year in many tribal calendars, involves traditional music, dance, and rituals centered around the sacred Sal tree. The Defence Minister’s presence at the event was seen as a gesture of solidarity and respect toward India’s tribal population and their enduring customs.
