T&T MP SAYS FRUSTRATED RESIDENTS WILL TAKE MATTERS IN THEIR OWN HANDS IF NO ASSISTANCE IS FORTHCOMING FROM WORKS AND TRANSPORT MINISTER

By a Staff Reporter: Member of Parliament for Mayaro Rushton Paray has accused T&T’s Gov’t of playing empty politics with the people for what he describes as vain promises of road repairs.
Following a press release on the matter on Wednesday ie News spoke with Mr Paray on Thursday, he told us that important traffic arteries are continuing to deteriorate, with gaping potholes, worsening landslides, and abandoned secondary and agricultural access roads.
He said the neglected and unstable roads are among the worst in the entire country and are forcing motorists to spend their earnings each month repairing their vehicles.
The Mayaro MP says he’s making a public appeal to Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan to treat the urgent road conditions as the national emergency that they are and to immediately initiate comprehensive repair works. He said failing that, affected and frustrated residents would intensify pressure on him and by extension the Government .It was on Monday that Minister Sinanan addressed several matters including landslips and alleged geographical discrimination, stating that this was not the case, However MP Paray is challenging him to prove this wrong
