Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has expressed confidence that the state will achieve the Viksit Bharat (Developed India) vision by 2037, a decade ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national target of 2047.
Sawant highlighted Goa’s strong economic standing, noting its highest per capita income and robust GDP growth. He emphasized the state’s focused efforts on industrial growth, IT, logistics, tourism, and education, which will accelerate its development trajectory.
“If PM Modi envisions a Viksit Bharat by 2047, Goa—being a small state with a strong economic foundation—can achieve this goal much earlier. We are aggressively working towards progress in multiple sectors, and I am confident that Goa will reach this milestone by 2037,” said the Chief Minister.
Goa’s development push aligns with India’s broader growth strategy, with a focus on infrastructure expansion, digital transformation, and investment-friendly policies. The state government remains committed to making Goa a model for accelerated economic progress within the country.
