Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh | In a recent statement, Swami Sri Govindanand Saraswati Maharaj from Jyotirmath Trust expressed deep concern over a controversial incident involving offerings made at the Tirumala Tirupati temple. "It's very unfortunate... we have never seen this kind of thing in the past. Even the demons would not do this kind of thing," he stated, referring to allegations that contaminated materials were fed to Lord Venkateswara during the prasadam offerings.
The Swami Govindanand Saraswati Maharaj emphasized the sacredness of the rituals associated with offering food to the deity, as prescribed in the Agama Shastra. "According to Agama Shastra, we follow a set process while offering food to Lord Venkateswara… Unfortunately, the Andhra government, during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's period, broke all the principles and went to that extent," he lamented.
Furthermore, Swami Govindanand accused the Chief Minister of appointing relatives with converted Christian backgrounds to key positions, asserting that individuals like Subba Reddy, Dharma Reddy, and Jawahar Reddy are responsible for the alleged violations that occurred regarding the famous Tirupati Laddus. His comments have sparked widespread debate and raised questions about the adherence to the traditional practices in the temple's administration under the current government.
