West Bengal Records Highest Voter-Turnout, Lakshwadeep Lowest

On the first day of elections, West Bengal recorded 33.56% voter turnout while Lakshadweep recorded 16.33%. West Bengal was followed by Tripura which recorded 33.28% voter turnout.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: As the first phase of Lok Sabha elections commenced, West Bengal recorded the highest voter turnout while Lakshadweep recorded the lowest till 11:00 AM on April 19, Friday.

On the first day of elections, West Bengal recorded 33.56% voter turnout while Lakshadweep recorded 16.33%. West Bengal was followed by Tripura which recorded 33.28% voter turnout.

In West Bengal, the elections are being conducted in three constituencies namely Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, and Alipurduars. The Union Territory of Lakshadweep has only one Lok Sabha seat.
