NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered separate First Information Reports (FIRs) against three real estate firms—Logix Infra Developers Pvt Ltd, Xanadu Estates Pvt Ltd, and Lotus Green Constructions Pvt Ltd—in connection with the alleged ₹9,000 crore Noida Sports City project scam, officials said on Thursday.

The action was initiated following directions from the Allahabad High Court, which had ordered a probe into the large-scale irregularities in the allocation and development of the Noida Sports City project during 2011-12. The court had expressed serious concerns over alleged violations of land use norms, non-fulfillment of contractual obligations, and financial misappropriations by the developers.

The Noida Sports City project, envisioned as an integrated township with world-class sports infrastructure, residential spaces, and commercial establishments, was allotted to private developers under a public-private partnership model. However, investigations revealed that instead of developing the promised sports infrastructure, the developers allegedly diverted the land for high-end residential and commercial projects, leading to significant losses to the state exchequer.

Officials stated that the FIRs invoke charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating, and corruption under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Corruption Act. The CBI is expected to summon key executives of the accused firms and officials involved in the project for questioning in the coming days.
