BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a bold statement, Member of Parliament from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Mahua Maji, on Monday accused the Enforcement Directorate of strategically conducting raids when elections are nearby.
Maji further claimed that individuals affiliating with the Bhartiya Janta Party are exempt from such search operations. Moreover, she stated that popular leaders, CMs, and ministers of opposition parties are always targeted in such raids and search operations.
The statement comes amid the illegal stone mining case row. According to the ED, Illegal stone mining activities are being carried out in Jharkhand's Sahibganj area. Further, the case involves Jharkhand's CM Hemant Soren and his close officials as per the reports. Hemant Soren's press advisor- Abhishek Prasad along with Ramnivas Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Sahibganj has been summoned by ED in connection to the case on 16th January.
As of now, Hemant Soren has skipped seven ED summons while accusing the agency of conducting a politically biased probe against him
