Interim Budget Session: FM Nirmala Speaks On Skill India Mission

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed that the Skill India Mission has trained nearly 1.4 crore, mastered and re-skilled 54 lakh youth, and established 3000 new Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).

BY A STAFF REPORTER: While presenting the interim budget for the session 2024-25, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed that the Skill India Mission has trained nearly 1.4 crore, mastered and re-skilled 54 lakh youth, and established 3000 new Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). 

She further revealed that a myriad of institutions for higher learning including seven IITs, 16 IIITs, seven IIMs, 15 AIIMS, and 390 universities have been established. Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the Interim Budget on 1st February, Thursday while addressing the joint sitting of two houses in the new parliament building in New Delhi. Launched in 2015, the Skill India Mission aims to provide training and market-relevant skills to more than 40 crore youth of the nation by 2022

The Interim Budget Session will continue till 9th February in the new Parliament building. A joint sitting of upper house and lower house of the parliament will be attending the session. Moreover, the full budget will be presented once the new government assumes the office after upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
