Mumbai, Maharashtra | Maharashtra Minister Shambhuraj Desai has reiterated Shiv Sena’s strong position on the Aurangzeb row, stating that the Mughal ruler’s legacy should be erased from the state. He emphasized that Aurangzeb failed in his mission to capture Swaraj and met his end in Maharashtra.
“When the issue of Aurangzeb came up, I immediately presented the stance of our Shiv Sena party. I had stated that Aurangzeb came with the intention of capturing Swaraj... but he failed in his mission and met his end in Maharashtra. There should be no trace of Aurangzeb left in the state,” Desai asserted.
He further mentioned that while the Archaeological Department has protected certain historical sites, any references to Aurangzeb should be removed. “That’s why, on behalf of Shiv Sena, we will follow up with the central government on this matter,” he added.
