New Delhi: Prime Minister of New Zealand, Christopher Luxon, met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan today as part of his official visit to India. The meeting highlighted the deepening bilateral ties between India and New Zealand, emphasizing shared democratic values, rule of law, and strong people-to-people connections.
Welcoming PM Luxon and his delegation, President Murmu recalled her State Visit to New Zealand in August 2024, describing the experience as unforgettable. She praised New Zealand’s natural beauty and cultural diversity, which she said had left a lasting impression on her.
During their discussion, both leaders acknowledged the friendly and cooperative nature of India-New Zealand relations. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties across various sectors, including trade, education, technology, and sports. The President emphasized the growing Indian diaspora in New Zealand, which plays a significant role in enhancing bilateral engagement.
