NEW DELHI: In a nationwide effort to ensure a smooth electoral process, 4,123 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) conducted all-party meetings in their respective Assembly Constituencies (ACs) to resolve any pending polling booth-related issues. The initiative aims to address concerns ahead of the upcoming elections within the framework of electoral laws.

Additionally, all 788 District Election Officers (DEOs) and 36 Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) from 28 states and 8 Union Territories (UTs) have been instructed to hold similar meetings at district and state/UT levels. These discussions are being conducted in accordance with the Representation of the People (RP) Act of 1950 and 1951, the Registration of Elector Rules of 1960, the Conduct of Election Rules of 1961, and other guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The ECI has emphasized the importance of resolving electoral issues within the legal framework to ensure a transparent and efficient voting process. By engaging with political parties at multiple administrative levels, election authorities aim to enhance coordination and address any operational challenges ahead of the polls.
